Prof. Choong Chee Pang, our Visiting Professor (Honorary)(2006-2007), Adjunct Professor in 2008 and former principal of the Trinity Theological College in Singapore, passed away on June 12, 2021, at his age of 78. Prof. Choong have distinguished himself as a public intellectual of the church and a public theologian of Singapore. He was a passionate theological educator in Southeast Asia and China, having served as missioner of the Lutheran World Federation, and professor of biblical literature at renowned institutions in China. He was keen to promote academic exchange among Christian scholars in China. He also participated The International Congress of Ethnic Chinese Biblical Scholars held by DSCCC in 2014. The ICECBS presented him the “Qianbei Award” to recognize his contribution.
The memorial services will be held on June 14 and 15 while the funeral service will be held on June 16 at All Saints Memorial Chapel in Singapore. Our deepest condolences to Prof. Choong’s family.
