2020 The End of Term Service

Event Date:
2020-05-21 (Thu) 6:00pm to 7:00pm

            Warmest greetings in Christ!

Due to the Hong Kong protests and the outbreak of COVID-19, this is not an easy year to everyone. The term-end date of the 2019-20 academic year has been postponed and our last gathering of the year - The End of Term Service has been rescheduled to 21 May (Thursday), from 6 to 7pm.  To control the spread of COVID-19, the Government and University have advised all forms of activity and social gathering among students and staff in campus should be reduced to a minimal level to prevent infection. In light of the above advice, the End of Term Service will be lived webcast on School’s facebook and/ or Youtube (English simultaneous interpretation will be provided).  We will send the webcast link by email few days before the service.

A stone offertory will be held during the End of Term Service. Graduating classes of 2019-20 and alumni (who never offer stone) are cordially invited to offer a stone (of width not more than 10 cm; the stone should be with a name or mark) during the communion service. The stones represent graduates of the school, and the graduates will be kept in our prayers continuously.  The offertory will take place online and we will invite you to offer the stone again in person after the pandemic. Please register online on or before 14 May.  We will send you the ZOOM meeting ID and password by email 2 days before the service. Since the service will be lived online, if you do not want your face to be seen, please turn off video to hide yourself or display your profile picture instead before joining the meeting.

*** Registration for Stone Offertory (For 2019—20 Graduating Class or Alumni only. Please enroll by 14 May): ***

Time flies, this will be my last time to deliver sermon as a director of the School. Thanks all for your companion in the previous years. The pandemic might distance us socially, but could not hinder DSCCC buddies' connection in Christ. The mask, which could not be removed in a short period of time, has become an indelible mark during our service in theological journey.

Should you have any inquiry, please contact Miss Zoebelle Wong at zoebelle@cuhk.edu.hk.

We look forward to seeing you on 21 May!
