本科学习希伯来文圣经/旧约中的智慧文学类型，包括约伯记、箴言、传道书、便西拉智训（《德训篇》）和所罗门智训，以及一些先知文学中的智慧篇章和诗篇。本科学习这些书卷中的「智慧」的概念以及它们与其他希伯来圣经/旧约书卷的区别和关联。同时，本科也考量智慧文学与古代近东训诲文学的关系。
