Abstract:
In commemoration of the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, we have invited Professor Volker Henning Drecoll, an internationally renowned scholar on Patristics and Early Christianity, to give a lecture in Hong Kong. He will present the latest academic research on the Council of Nicaea and analyze unresolved theological issues. The Dean of the Cathedral, the Very Reverend Samson Fan, will serve as respondent. The lecture will be followed by Eucharist service, with the Very Rev. Fan presiding and Prof. Francis Yip preaching. The Nicene Creed will also be chanted during the worship service, allowing attendees to deeply appreciate the significance of this historic moment through both academic discussion and liturgy.
