Bursaries and Scholarships

For the best final year students of Department of Cultural and Religious Studies who have achieved outstanding academic achievements over the past few years.

For the students with the best academic record in each class of Department of Cultural and Religious Studies in the previous year.

For an outstanding Chung Chi College student in the Divinity School of Chung Chi College who has an expressed intention to enter the Christian ministry upon completion of studies. The award is based on financial need, academic merit and contribution to the community life in the Divinity School of Chung Chi College and the College.

The Board of Trustees established these scholarships in 1995/96. These are full tuition scholarships for an academic year and may be renewed for another year. They are to be awarded to academically outstanding students, who demonstrate proven leadership, potential for further development, and who are not in their first year of studies.

For diligence in study, and active participation in community life and extracurricular activities.

For a full-time theology student, in year two or above, and recommended by the Divinity School of Chung Chi College.

For a student who excels in Pastoral Study courses.

For a student who excels in worship and scared music.

For students who have outstanding performance in the study of Chinese Christianity and related subjects.

For a student who excels in Biblical Study courses.

For a student who has an excellent performance in preaching subjects. The prize also supports organization of conferences on expository preaching or purchase of reference materials related to homiletics.

For a student who has outstanding academic performance in Church History courses.

For a student who will be a missionary upon graduation and one student who has outstanding performance in mission courses.

For the student who has the best result for graduation thesis.

For the student whose graduation thesis has been ranked most outstanding. (Area: Systematic Theology / Christian Education)

For the student whose graduation thesis has been ranked most outstanding. (Area: Biblical Studies)

For the MACS student whose thesis has been ranked as the most outstanding. (Area: Theology and Hong Kong Society)

For one or two students who excels in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and have decided to serve as hospital chaplaincy or church ministers.

For the student’s travel fare to North America for summer internship.

For a student who has been accepted by an overseas university or seminary and will pursue a doctorate or master’s degree in religion or theology upon graduation, with preference given to one majoring in biblical studies.

This scholarship is presented to the theology student who has musical talent and actively serves in the music-related positions of Divinity School of Chung Chi College where the contribution of his/her music ministry will be weighted. The awardee should not be the final-year student and is required to has at least a 3.0 GPA.

For students who are godly and caring, and who have good performance in church ministry and preaching ministry.

For a Chinese Mainland student who excels in character, scholarship, is devoted to serving God and is active in the community life of the Divinity School.

For the MACS graduate with excellent academic achievement, spirituality, responsibility, and commitment.

For a student who has not received financial support from churches, is in need and has contributed to campus life.

For one or two students who have decided to serve as full-time ministers after graduation.

For a student who is actively taking part in activities which promote social justice or has submitted an academic paper on social justice.

For excellence in character and scholarship.

For a student who has expressed intention of entering the Christian ministry upon completion of studies. This award is based of financial need, academic performance and contribution to the community life.

For Chinese Mainland students who have good academic results, devoted to serving God, and will serve Christian ministry in Chinese Mainland upon completion of studies.

1. For one female and male student each who has outstanding academic performance and wishes to serve the disadvantaged after graduation. Priority will be given to those with financial needs.
2. For one female and male Chinese Mainland student each who has outstanding performance in study and devotion in serving God. Priority will be given to those with financial needs.
3. For one female and male Chinese Mainland student each who has good academic results and is committed to serving seminaries and Christian ministry in Chinese Mainland upon completion of studies. Priority will be given to those with financial needs.

For one female and male student each who will be missionaries in overseas upon graduation. Priority will be given to those with financial needs.

1. For Chinese Mainland students studying in MDiv or BD programme, who have outstanding academic results, actively engaged in community life at Divinity School and are committed to serve as full-time ministers in Chinese Mainland churches after graduation; OR
2. For Chinese Mainland students studying in MTheol or DTheol programme, who have outstanding academic results, actively engaged in community life at Divinity School and are committed to serving in mainland seminaries after graduation to train ministers.

Encourage for full-time theology student in financial need and recommended by the Divinity School of Chung Chi College.

For a student in need of financial support with GPA 2.5 or above.

To support students in the Master of Divinity or Bachelor of Divinity programs who are called to serve the Lord, devoted to mission and evangelism, having good academic performance, and with demonstrated financial needs.

For the candidates preparing for full- or part-time Christian ministry in the new cohort of the MDiv and MACS programme and with the devotion in serving the community, academic intelligence and financial needs.

For the Chinese Mainland students who must study in B. D., M. Div., M. Min., M. Th. or D. Th. programme. The applicants must submit the recommendation letter from their church or seminary, and guarantee the students shall serve in this organization of Chinese Mainland upon graduation.
